Tere Ghar Ke Samne (In Front Of Your House) was a hit movie and hit soundtrack of 1963. It was directed and written by Vijay Anand and starred his brother, producer and 1960’s heart throb Dev Anand, the beautiful Nutan, Rajindernath and veteran Om Prakash.

The soundtrack is by legendary composer Sachin Dev Burman with lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri. The hit songs from this movie include Ek Ghar Banaunga, Tu Kahan Ye Bata and Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukara...which are my favourites and I would add Dil Ki Manzil to the equation too.

My verdict: 4.5 stars

Side One
  1. Ek Ghar Banaunga – Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd Rafi
  2. Yeh Tanhai Haere Hae –Lata Mangeshkar
  3. Dil Ki Manzil – Asha Bhosle and Chorus
  4. Tu Kahan Ye Bata – Mohd Rafi
Side Two
  1. Soon Le Tu Dil Ki Sada – Mohd Rafi
  2. Dekho Rooth Na Karo– Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd Rafi
  3. Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukara – Mohd Rafi

Veen, I agree with you completely - this score merits a 4.5. Fabulous songs! And some superb picturisations too: I love the way the title song is shot, especially.

Thanks Madhu, I love the title song too. Pretty good special effects, comsidering the era.

Thanks Veen. Yep, I agree Ek Ghar Banaunga is the best...memorable melody, lovely vocals and imaginatively picturised. And the rest of the soundtrack is also quite nice. The 4.5 rating seems just about right. :)

Thank you Mr Naidu.

Great songs here Veen. I wonder what made you deduct 0.5 point from the star-rating though!

Most of the song-picturisation are great too - such as the title song EK GHAR and DIL KA BHANWAR. Also, TU KAHAAN..

For a moment I was confused by the inclusion of YEH TANHAI HAAY RE HAAY since it sounds very much like a Salil Chowdhary number especially the first line.

Great Album Veen!

Nasir saab, I think Dil Ki Manzil was my only disappointment in the album....hence the 4.5 rating.

Great to get one of the gem from the ageless allrounder dada burman with an unusual vinyl cover.

Thanks Veen for the wonderful efforts you are making.

One request from my side. You have already posted two but please provide some more Madan Mohan's scores if you have.
