MUSIC #56: NASHE KI MAZAA 2010 (HINDI OST COMPILATION)

I was doing some spring cleaning the other day and I came across an old mix tape that had amongst other songs, some ‘sharabi’ or drunken songs. And that of course, gave me the idea to make an alcohol fuelled song compilation album from my record collection. Hope you enjoy my effort.

PS: I also found a tape with Raj Kapoor Hits that included snippets of interviews with the legend and commentaries from fellow colleagues. I’ll put that compilation up soon too.

Wow! Great compilations of the Sharabi Songs indeed!

Before I proceed - one slight correction: MUJHE PEENE KA SHAUQ NAHEEN is not by Mohammed Rafi. Probably it is Shabbir Kumar. I wonder about PEEKAR SHARAAB in Ganwaar since I don't remember it.
The Noor Jahan song by Suman is a pleasant surprise though it addresses the SAAWAN.

If you go on for a second compilation, two songs are a must: Both from AAS PAAS: Lata's BHARE BAZAAR MEIN HAMM KYOON...and HAMM KO BHEE GHAM NE MAAR - both are beauties! I love these songs for their lyrics, the voice and picturisation! You'll love them.
Of course, there are many such songs the list of which would be somewhat long.

Excellent effort Veen!

Thanks Nasir Saab. I will definitely go for compilation number two, so please, please give me more inspiration for sharabi songs.I am planning another 20, if I can make the numbers.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake. Changed on the page but please amend on the MP3.

Also thinking of doing "bhang" themed songs. Any insight/request appreciated. Please write to:

Here are my two cents for the second compilation -

1. Peene waalon ko peene ka bahana chahiye from Haath Ki Safai(Kishore and Hema Malini)

2. Yeh jo halka halka suroor hai from Soutan Ki Beti (Kishore and Anuradha Podwal)
