MUSIC #91: PREVIN PLAYS GERSHWIN 1973 (CLASSICAL BROADWAY)

If you like the music of Andre Previn and George Gershwin, here’s a rare treat. Two great maestros in one offering. Together with the London Symphony Orchestro and Previn conducting the music and on the piano, he brings George Gershwin’s wonderful music to life.

 My verdict: 4 stars

 A note on George Gershwin:

An American composer and pianist born on 26 September 1898 and died on 11 July 1937 aged only 38, from a barin tumour. He composed pop and classical music, usually with his brother Ira Gershwin, and is most famous for Rhapsody In Blue (1924), An American In Paris (1928) and Porgy and Bess (1935).
