An American composer and pianist born on 26 September
1898 and died on 11 July 1937 aged only 38, from a barin tumour. He composed
pop and classical music, usually with his brother Ira Gershwin, and is most famous
for Rhapsody In Blue (1924), An American In Paris (1928) and Porgy and Bess
